The Contemporary Art Gallery of local artist Ferenc Vollein is located in Badacsonyörs. The aim of the permanent exhibition space is to represent his continuous artistic presence in the contemporary art and life of Balaton, Veszprém County and the country. On the other hand, it is also an important stage in the process of establishing its artistic independence.
On 21 May 2021, the Contemporary Art Gallery of the painter Ferenc Vollein opened at Csigáskuti street 1, in Badacsonyörs.
The owner of the gallery is a prominent and one of the most renowned Hungarian and international representatives of contemporary, naive art. Ferenc Vollein is the only one to represent the popular and widespread naive neo-Renaissance style in Hungary, Italy and South America. The young painter was born in 1999.
The painter has been deeply involved in painting for more than 15 years, during which time he has achieved outstanding national and international success. His paintings are inspired by the stories of the Old and New Testaments, the great figures of Hungarian history, the fateful turns of events, the landscapes of Lake Balaton, Tuscany and southern Italy. So far, he had over 60 solo exhibitions in major art venues in Hungary and abroad, and has also participated in numerous group exhibitions. In addition to his works, Ferenc Vollein is the proud owner of 4 independent publications of his art.
In October 2016, he was received by the Holy Father, Pope Francis I, at a general Papal Audience in St. Peter's Square in Rome, on the occasion of the Year of St. Martin. Here he personally presented to the Pope his work "Saint Martin Baptising his Mother", which was the first of the living contemporary Hungarian painters to be included in the private papal collection of the world-famous Vatican Museum and Picture Gallery.
