Bujdosók lépcsője

Bujdosók lépcsője

Badacsony Hill can also be approached from the western side, starting in the village of Badacsonytördemic. This hiking trail leads to the summit via the Bujdosók lépcsője (“Stairs of the Exiled”), a staircase with 464 step

This section of the National Blue Trail begins at the Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget railway station and climbs the hill through Rodostó and Újhegy streets. The staircase starts next to the former Rodostó Tourist Lodge and ascends all the way to the mountaintop.

Built in 1936 to commemorate the Rákóczi Memorial Year of 1935, the staircase is lined with rest stops named after key figures of the Kuruc era. Along the way, hikers will pass plaques honoring Ilona Zrínyi, Miklós Bercsényi, Kelemen Mikes, Krisztina Csáky, and Zsuzsanna Lorántffy. At the top of the staircase, hikers can pause at the Czinka Panna Rest Area. From here, the Tördemic Lookout Point to the left offers a stunning view of Szent György-hegy / St. George's Hill and the mountains surrounding the village of Szigliget.

From the Tördemic Lookout, it's possible to continue exploring: head the other way from Czinka Panna to reach the Ranolder Cross, the József Egry Lookout Point, or descend the southern side of the mountain back to the shores of Lake Balaton, toward the village of Badacsony.
