During the 4.6 km long hike, we will take you back to the past, when Badacsony was still an active volcano. Walking along the Fire Ring Nature Trail, you can learn about the exciting history of the formation of Badacsony Hill and Lake Balaton.
Length of the trail: approx. 4.6 km.
Starting point: Rózsakő Badacsony
End point: Rózsakő Badacsony
Notable points along the trail: Rózsakő ("rosestone"), Kőkapu (Stone Gates), lower level of the Bujdosók lépcsője (Stairs of the Exiled)
The trail can be accessed from Rózsakő, located above the Szegedy Róza House on the southern side of Badacsony Hill, and the circular trail will return to the same place. The tour guides hikers around the lower level of Badacsony, following the red-marked hiking trail.
The trail is lined with 10 stations, where information boards provide details about the volcanic activity and history of Badacsony and the surrounding area.
