Our great-grandfather planted the first exotic pine trees more than 100 years ago; during the years of Socialism our grandfather continued this work in the nationalized areas; after Socialism fell, our father purchased back the treasured family estate and opened it to the public. We, the fourth generation, strive to live up to their example.

Their love, faith and hard work are preserved in the trees, instilling in them a much deeper meaning for us than mere dendrological attractions. The vineyard, an organic part of the arboretum, was established in 1878 by our great-great-grandfather, who built the cellar that is still in use today.
